Description of the content of this part of the web site
In modern day society sewing is a less commonly exisitng skill. The feedback on the sewing instructions provided to our basic patterns have been very good. However, we understand that even those who accepted the challenge to sew their own garments sometimes found it hard to adapt the pattern to personal fits. Regardless of whether you can sew or not, it is not always something you wish to do. Sometime you simple do not want to or maybe time does not allow it. At the same time it can be hard /expensive to finsd someone to can help you with it.
We also know, through experience and feedback, that it is not possible to sew certain type of clothes at home with equal fit and quality as the garments available on the market. This is the case with f.ex. jeans and regular suit jackets. Certain garments are more complicated to sew depending on their construction. It can also be near impossible to find the right type of fabric necessary for certain type of garments which is available to regular customers.
Many garments can become more functional by simple adaptations without making them adapted for a seated position per se. Instead the functional aspect can be about such things as msking it easier to dress and undress or maybe make sure the garment stays in place. this part of the web place also contain a umber of such simpler adaptations.

Can you give me some good ideal for a person with limited range of motion in the shoulder. My daughter can’t raise her arms up above her shoulder nor move her arms back, well enough, to put on a jacket, shirt and pants or even wipe her buttock (sorry a real big issue). She is a short person or a dwarf and she is always in a forward bend position while sitting and leans on her table otherwise she in a wheelchair. Since clothing is difficult for her she hate getting dress and live in sleeveless t shirt and panties in the house year around. All her store bought clothing is too long in the front and too short in the back and sometimes very uncomfortable after I try to adjust them. My main question is: What the best thing to do for a skirt (because I am giving up on the pants reconstruction so many destroy pants) to make it easier to sit and get the fabric out of the way when she needs to go to the bathroom. Should I do a an overlap long center back slit so she can pull the fabric towards the front, or do a long side slit along the upper leg. I am thinking the side slit will cause the back skirt portion to hang in the toilet water. Also her upper legs are short, solid and rounded hip-to- knee about 8 inches. Fabric texture is also an issue for her it rubs her side leg and that why I figure a side slit might work but it won’t help with the personal care issue and taking her clothing off. I am also considering placing a zipper all the way down the front.
Her front gown should not be the same length as the back . Her shape is the problem, a gusset can be made for allowance. Close fitted garment should be avoided. Velcro fasteners and faggoting can be used for pants correction.
